And as it turns out, some of the snow totals were higher than expected from the nor'easter. A few locations in Connecticut recorded over a foot of snow.
Here are some unofficial measurements recorded by spotters and other observers, compiled by the National Weather Service, for parts of Fairfield County:
- Stratford: 13.2 inches
- Monroe: 13.0 inches
- Newtown: 12.6 inches
- Weston: 12.5 inches
- Wilton: 12.5 inches
- Norwalk: 12.0 inches
- Bethel: 11 inches
- Greenwich: 11.0 inches
- New Canaan: 10.4 inches
- New Fairfield: 9.5 inches
- Ridgefield: 9.0 inches
- New Canaan: 8.8 inches
- Bridgeport Airport: 8.0 inches
- Brookfield: 7.9 inches
Here are snow measurements recorded in other parts of Connecticut:
- Southbury: 14.2 inches
- Seymour: 14.1 inches
- Bethany: 13.5 inches
- Branford: 13.5 inches
- Cheshire: 11.8 inches
- Northford: 11.7 inches
- Milford: 11.6 inches
- North Haven: 11.5 inches
- Ledyard Center: 10.5 inches
- Haddam: 10.5 inches
- Wallingford: 10.2 inches
- Waterbury: 9.2 inches
And these snow totals were recorded in Westchester County, N.Y.:
- Harrison: 12.5 inches
- Yonkers: 12.2 inches
- White Plains:12.0 inches
- Mamaroneck: 12.0 inches
- Larchmont: 11 inches
- Scarsdale: 11 inches
- Armonk: 10 inches
- Mount Kisco: 9.0 inches
- Ardsley: 7.5 inches
The National Weather Service also reported these top wind gusts during the nor'easter:
- Bridgeport Airport: 52 mph
- Stamford: 48 mph
- Fairfield: 47 mph
